Raffia

A land steeped in tradition, the Camargue is renowned for its weaving expertise. Here, craftsmanship is part of the landscape with its exquisite natural materials. This local heritage has led us to (re)discover raffia, a naturally elegant material that goes wonderfully well with leather.

This union led to three new ideas, summer pieces that we are proud to introduce to you.

Nattier: the art of crafting

This new tote bag celebrates Madagascan craftsmanship and the weaving techniques passed down from generation to generation. (Not available in Australia and New Zealand).

Nattier is made from a 100% natural and local material which, as with leather, makes each piece unique.

This model is an extension of Le Tanneur's initiatives to promote leather goods that are a blend of craftsmanship and modernity, with a strong social commitment.

The use of two weaving techniques is particularly noteworthy here: classic weaving and strip weaving, which turn each bag into a genuine work of art, and the addition of vegetable-tanned Italian leather, echoing the House's savoir-faire.

Nattier's composition

Natural raffia

Nattier is made from 100% natural raffia. It is characterised by its unique design with two types of weaving: classic and strip weaving.

Italian leather

The addition of pieces in vegetable-tanned calfskin showcases Le Tanneur's expertise in leatherwork.

Pia and Emie: subtle and natural

Modern, assertive lines that have quickly made their mark on the Le Tanneur collections, Pia and Emie are two formats that have always been a staple of leather goods: the handbag and the cross-body bag, with their own creative touch.

The raffia-effect finish is as beautiful as it is unexpected, reflecting the South of France and its savoir-faire.

What do we like best about these two pieces?

The subtlety of the weave and the natural contrasts created by the mix of materials.
